Today is Veterans Day
I have a great deal of respect for the men and women who serve our country. Some people that I love a lot have taken this stand in their lives. I wish for them as well as all who have served or will serve to know today that I honor and respect them so very much. We will never know what it takes to willingly put your life on the line for people who may not even care or believe in the cause you are upholding. This is a gift that we have all been given whether we agree with war and the military or not. We have been given a freedom that is unimaginable to millions of people still today because of them Whether they serve 2 years or 25, stateside or overseas, during peacetime or war..They have given much of their lives for me and you. Their families have sacrificed and many times have completely lost a loved one in the protection of all of us.
“In war, there are no unwounded soldiers” Jose Narosky
We should NOT take this for granted !
I personally would just like to thank my grandfathers, my dad, Gordon, Misty’s grandpa, my Uncle Ellis, Uncle Chris,Fred, Danny and Levi and ALL VETERANS of past and present for my freedom. Thank you and may Heavenly Father protect and watch over all of you and especially those that are still serving today.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15-13
IT IS THE SOLDIER
It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
